Spaying and Neutering

Should I Spay/Neuter my bunny? What will happen if you do:

These girls need to be spayed ASAP! Female Rabbits:
1. There is a very good chance she will live longer! (reduces risk of uterine cancer)
2. It will help in litter training.
3. She will get along with other fixed bunnies a lot better.
4. It will take away the stress of pregnancies/false pregnancies.
5. You won't have the chance of adding to the over-population rabbits in shelters.
6. She probably will not be as aggressive and wild.

Male Rabbits:
1. He will most likely stop/never start spraying.
2. He will not smell as bad.
3. You will be able to litter train him more easily and more effectively.
4. He will probably be able to be with other fixed bunnies.
5. He will cut down on scent marking.
6. He will be less aggressive and more calm.
7. It will take away the stress of continually wanting to mate.
8. It will reduce circling and mounting.
9. It will reduce the risk of cancer.

After your rabbit is 6 years old, you should not attempt to have the surgery done. Using anesthetics becomes a lot riskier when they are this age.

Note: The outcomes listed above are only what is most likely to happen.
